Help! error message when trying to open cakewalk :(

hello,

I have HS 6 XL ( yes it's ancient) , and something that has never happened before just did. I tried to open the program and get this:

The application has failed to start because its side-by-side configuration is incorrect. Please see the application event log for more detail.

Yikes. I really need to use it right now, because I use the soft synth in it to compose/arrange, and I'm working on a project in Finale that I need to hear chords, etc . I use it with Finale open all the time and never had this to happen. Can anyone help?

:(

Go to the Microsoft site and download the latest Visual C++ runtime library and install it. You may have installed a program that overwrote the one you had installed.
