Session Drummer 3 Velocities in X1

How are velocities handled in X1?

I ask because I've recently been using Reaper and noticed when I load Session Drummer 3 in it, it works much better than it does in X1. Especially drum velocities. They are much more sensitive and accurate in my opinion. You can really noticed it when you click on each drum in SD3's window while in Reaper, then try it in X1.

Is there some kind of setting in X1 that would effect the default velocities in Session Drummer 3?

there are 3 hit points in the icons.. BUT it depends on the SFZ programming / how many samples per drum.. maybe you have something fixed in your keyboard ? or it's doubling the velocity / after touch etc. ?

I'm not even using a keyboard. I'm talking about clicking on the image of the drum in the mixer window or the main window in Session Drummer 3. There's tons of room from the bottom to the top of the velocity scale when I load it in Reaper, but almost none when I load it in X1. Both at default settings.

Session Drummer 3 feels more responsive and loads large sample banks twice as fast as it does in X1 also.

Are you hell-bent on bashing SONAR? If you're going to make claims like, "Session Drummer 3 feels more responsive and loads large sample banks twice as fast (in another product) as it does in X1", then please provide proof. Have you done any side by side tests? Have you timed how long it takes to load XYZ kit in different DAWs with a stopwatch?

Please do this before continuing to make such claims.

Well, I got bored so I tried testing the velocities for a while (mouse clicking on drums in both views) in both Reaper and Sonar and heard no noticeable difference between the two. Hmm.

Don't tell me...You have a fast system so bloat and memory management etc would not come into it?

I don;t think mods should get stressed.  IMO any thread with the word "VST" near it in relation to X1 should have a cut an paste apology.

Its not about getting stressed, its about the OP making baseless claims. What does 'bloat and memory management' have to do with Session Drummer 3's velocity layering?

What are you talking about? What would that have to do with velocity levels? It's not like this is a very complex or demanding task even for a relatively slow system.

Anyway, I saw what the OP said, I took time to test it for myself and report back. Simple as that.
