Is anyone using this mixer?

http://www.allen-heath.com/UK/Products/Pages/ProductDetails.aspx?CatId=MixWizard3Series&ProductId=MixWizard3162

I'm thinking of buying one(used), because a number of bands asked me to do their live sound.

I do have the A&H 22FX, but it's being used in the studio/rehearsal room and I don't want to take it away from there for two days every time.

I am able to get a really loud mix by using this mixer (wave form looks like a brick).

This one is better,  though prolly more expensive.

That what I used at our bike rally gig the other month,  not mine I must add, it belongs to a friend.

I've always thought that mixer had a nice feature set for such a conservative price.  That said, I heard (and experienced) that power supply issues were a problem.  That could be sorted by now but a used mixer might be subject to those concerns.

I thoroughly recommend the Studio Live 2442 from Presonus. I've only just had it a little and from my experience so far is awesome. I don't need any other gear for a live gig except a laptop for recording. the SL24 has all the fx I need and they are more than good enough to compete with anything going around. bang for buck and overall features it was the best I could find. It's a real power house.

shame I'm sort of going to be in moth balls for a good while studio wise - but if I get a chance to do a live gig I'll be grabbin this baby out of storage to do the work.

Do you use the 2442 for recording too?

I've seen a couple of local production companies switch to the Presonus Live series boards..little bit of a learning curve, but they like'em. I have heard of firewire compatablity problems in some cases, and thats the only thing stopping me from picking up a 16.4.2
I used the 12channel A/H wizard a few mths ago for a live show...was alright and got the job done. Didn't have any real wow factor IMHO.

Thanks Dave, I didn't know that, but the mixer and the power supply have survived several years of touring, so I guess it's ok.

Sort of, I'm using it in musical place1 now, so I get the "feel" of it.

That one is a bit too much at the moment Mike, but thanks anyway :) And good luck with all the things going on in your life right now!

It's a great sounding mixer for the €325 I payed for it

The only thing I will have to get used to is the FX, it sounds more like you use a send to a reverb bus.
