I have purchased the mp3 encoder, but can't export for some reason

When I try to export an mp3 file, everything appears to be okay, but the created file cannot be accessed.  I only see the file at all when I bring up the export mp3 window again...the previous file shows with a lock icon on it.  When I go to that directory in windows though, I can't see the file at all.  Any suggestions?

Ok...apparently it isn't just mp3 creation...if I try to export audio into any format, the same thing happens...The Sonar application can see and use these files, but nothing else can...

Is Sonar installed with admin / elevated privledges?

Or is it somehow permissioned to an acct that your user isn't?
Sorry, just throwing them out there as I don't really know!

Where are you trying to export it? You can't export to a CD.

what are your export settings?  most other programs cannot read anything except 16bit/44.1kHz - which is what you HAVE to have for mp3 encoding (with most encoders) and also what you have to have for all CD players to be able to play wave files on a "music disk"

I'm just exporting to a directory on my PC...

I'll have to go home and check my settings, but I would think that incorrect settings would just make the files unusable.  My system can't see the files at all, although the Sonar program can see them...I can import the files I've created to a new project, for instance.  I have tried right clicking on the files when the import dialog window comes up and looking at the properties....when I do this and try to change the owner i get an error "sytem cannot find the specified file'

I do think it must be some kind of permissions issue.

that's something I've never heard of before unless your have your windows explorer set up so that you can't see audio files which is highly unlikely.  I'm not even sure you can filter it that way.

what do you mean by trying to "change the owner?"

Still don't know exactly what was causing my problem, but after installing the maintenance packs to get my version of Sonar current, the problem was fixed.
