X1C, console view and pro channel bug?

Hi ... again ...

Accept my apologize if i am 6 month late with a wellknown subject (bug?), i still consider myself an X1C-rookie... anyway:

* I open a project, and start to play around with the ProChannel thing (not really the first time i open it, but almost).
* i open Console view (alt+2), and it opens nicely (it "replaces" the track view. Just as it shall be).
* I load a Prochannel Preset for one track.
* Then (bug 1?): ... the buttons for the EQ section of PC is not working at all? i click; nothing happens.
* Then (bug 2?): i shift between console and track view (alt+1, alt+2) and now the Console view is sorta "floating" instead of being integrated in the Sonar window? And ... i cant get it back to be "locked inside" Sonar. I am trying to close it (click the upper right <X>) and reopen it, still the same. (I hope i express myself clear here?)

I have tried to completely close the project, still the same.

Any experience of similar behaviour? Any solutions?

***

Win 7 64 bit
Sonar X1C 32 bit
Plugins in project: Dim Pro, Pod Farm and Addictive Drums loaded, besides that nothing. I was planning to make a complete mix with only CW-shipped effects, and to start out, the Pro Channel.

Cheers
/Bengt

To re-dock the Console View, click the icon in the upper left corner of the title bar (or right-click the title bar), and choose Dock in Multitdock. You can also just drag it down to the bottom of the screen and drop it into the multidock.

For the PC EQ problem, it's not clear what buttons you are clicking, and what you expect to result, but in general, just clicking buttons will enable their functions but have little or no audible effect until you change the level (or frequency in the case of Hi-Pass/Lo-Pass sections) to have an effect.

Hi. Thanx for the Docking hint. It worked perfectly:)

About Prochannel: In the first place and with all respect, ive been around with Sonar for some 8 years, so i know what to expect from "buttons and knobs" in general.

In this case, to be more precise: I upload a preset in Pro Channel. In the EQ area i can see the "EQ Curve". Then, for each of the four EQ bands, there are ON/Off-buttons which toggles (rather "shall toggle") blue-white when pressed. Then, there is a "EQ On/Off" button in the upper right corner of the EQ section, which also shall toggle Blue/White for On/Off. All those five mentioned buttons are (this is my case) white/off, and they dont react on clicking. They remain white (off), even though i can see the graphics EQ.

    This behaviour is intermittent.

Got it.   Sorry, but I didn't have much to go on.

It seems some users have had to re-scan VSTs to get Prochannel initialized. If that doesn't get it, I dunno.

Hmm, thats strange. But i'll try. Re-scan once or every now n then?

Just once should do it if that's the problem.

    * Then (bug 1?): ... the buttons for the EQ section of PC is not working at all? i click; nothing happens.
Sometimes the Pro Channel does this. There's one of two ways it can be brought out of an unresponsive state.

    1. Turning the Tube Saturation on seems to snap the Pro Channel out of it's unresponsive state on some systems. You can then turn the Tub Sat back off.

    2. Unfortunately sometimes you have to close the project and re-open it if the Tube Saturation trick doesn't work.
Never heard of that happening. Sorry. :(

    Good luck!

Thanx Bub for more hints on my "Bug 1". I don't know if its good or bad, but at least it seems like i'm not the only one who suffer from this little (?) bug.

On "bug 2", in the first place i thought that Brundlefly gave me the answer. Then i gave it a second thought; it IS still strange. If i press <alt+2> <alt+1> in order, i shall come back to the track view, just as it looked from the beginning, right?! (I have always done that in earlier versions, but the shortcuts were <alt+3> <alt+0>). But ... no it dont take me back. Not always...

Is there (it should be, i guess) a short cut / quick way to get back to the factory default look in the Sonar window? I mean, the control area on top, inspector to the left and track view to the right. Then, when i click <alt+2> i want the control area still on top, then the Console View to fill up the rest or the screen. Thats how it opened in the first place i ran X1, and the way it shall be if you ask me.

    Cheers again

Look in the help file under "Screensets"

These will do exactly what you want.

You can cycle through the different default sets simply by clicking 1, 2, 3 etc (not on the keypad on the right - use the numeric keys located above the QWERTY row)

    Ah, brilliant!
I've now read through the help file and here i really think you solved my task:)

Thats one of the enhancements in X1 that you all have been talkin about, i guess. Means i have to change my usual workflow, instead of toggling between "track view" and "Console view", i will toggle between a few screensets. I like it allready.

Funny, day one i sigh about a bug, day two i smile about improvements.

    Thanx!

    Vallhagen:

The pro channel is unresponsive for me sometimes too. One of the Cakewalk fellows chimed in with his solution: if it is unresponsive select the "Full Reset" preset and this should kick it into gear- it works for me.

It's no secret I'm a Screenset Fanboi.... they are very powerful and once you've set them up how you want them and incorporated them into your workflow, you'll wonder how you ever managed without them.
