[solved]What Just Happened??? No Cakewalk Anything via a verified Firefox 5.0

All of a sudden a few minutes ago...

Everytime I try to access a cakewalk site from Firefox 5 (verified as still 5.0), I now get the message:

Bad Request

HTTP Error 400. The request is badly formed.

I'm currently logged in using IE6 on an old win2k machine (my web beast) and I can access it from Firefox 5 on my DAW... And Firefox 5 is accessing everywhere else as it usually does...

What happened??? Any ideas? I'm stumped... I cleared my cache and tried again... I even re-booted the machine... Still the same result...

Any ideas greatly appreciated...

[solved]
Never mind... thans anyway. I found the cakewalk cookie and deleted it... Now I'm logged in again... Something must have corrupted the cookie???
[end solved]

It seemed to creep on me... I was tracing down more info on Expanded and suddenly I couldn't get to the final info pages, then I couldn't refresh the current page, then I couldn't get on to any cakewalk pages at all...

I'm glad my solution helped you too... I wonder if anyone else had this happen? Think it was an attack of some kind? ;-)

    Hi Keni
I've been having real strange problems with my Firefox of late - I see you had not upgraded your Firefox to the latest versions - I've upgraded mine to 6.0.2 now.
Anyway I decided to try Chrome - using version 13.0.782.220 m.
Have to say it is quicker and everything that I was having a problem with Firefox with works perfectly in Chrome.
However there are still features in Firefox I like so I am running both at the moment.
    Cheers
    Nigel

    Hi Nigel...

Mine (FF5.0) was behaving just fine until the other week when it auto-installed 6.0 even tho it was supposed to ask me...

I re-installed 5 and all was fine until this event yesterday... I'm back to what feels 'normal' I believe...

I'm sorry to hear that you too had problems. I haven't tried Chrome as I don't feel it important to run yet another browser and change over all my data...

Maybe when the next round of hardware upgrades I'll try something new? We'll see...

    Best of luck...

Same here.  For the last 2 days I've been assuming that the Cakewalk site was offline, until I tried accessing it from a different computer.

Same problem, same solution. Interesting that when I deleted my cakewalk cookie folder a few hours ago no improvement. But when I did it again a few minutes ago, I am able to access Cakewalk.com domains.

There are probably a lot of other users out there still unable to access the Cakewalk site.  Maybe CW ought to send an email out to all registered users about this issue.
