Seeking monitor reverb when trying to record vocals dry

I have Sonar 6.  I never set up a way to be able to record dry vocals as I am hearing my voice with reverb.   What is the easiest, cheapist, etc way to do that?  I know I can use a stand alone DAW recorder, but it seems like a convoluted way to do it.   Plus it is not inexpensive.  Any suggestions?

Your question is very confusing, Sonar does not default to inserting reverb so I will assume your using a mixing board?? Turn off the f--- reverb if you want it dry.

    I don't understand the question.
SONAR always records dry. When you have Input Echo on you hear the vocal with the FX that is in the FX bin.

I wonder if you are talking about a reverb effect or an "echo" caused by latency.

If you don't have any effect in the FX bin, then the reverb is not caused by SONAR, but your soundcard.

SONAR PE 8.5.3, Asus P5B, 2,4 Ghz Dual Core, 4 Gb RAM, GF 7300, EMU 1820, Bluetube Pre  -  Kontakt4, Ozone, Addictive Drums, PSP Mixpack2, Melda Creative Pack, Melodyne Plugin etc.

Good one Kalle! More info about your set up would help.

I think if we read 'as' as 'while' we can get the jist of it.

I think OP is talking about monitoring with verb while recording dry?

As others have pointed out Sonar records dry (unless you feed it some wet!)

clairenicols have you tried putting a reverb on the channel you want to record to and switching on the 'input echo' control on that channel?

If your latency is low enough what you will be able to do is turn off any direct monitoring from your sound card and listen 'through' the reverb in Sonar. If you record in to this channel and then play it back and turn off the reverb you will have dry vocals (so you can put a different reverb on them in the mix, if you wish)

It would still be useful to know your setup so we can help you with the routing.
