Yes - and better than in EZ drummer as you have a lot more options to tweak the sound.

That would actually be worth buying EZDrummer for, since the combination would still be less than the price of Superior plus you'd have EZD.

All else is in doubt, so this is the truth I cling to.

When I bought EZ drummer for some $30, I also got a bunch of packs for Superior ( alot more than what came with EZ) and I thought that's odd.....I should be getting more packs for EZ instead.....I suppose the idea was upgrade...upgrade...upgrade...

I was planning on getting BFD Eco (although I still may do), but with Superior so cheap, I'll prolly use that $$ for this.

when you buy the DVDs from a brick and mortar (and maybe online too if you get the boxed versions) they were (at least at one time) putting all of their products in the box, but without the serial number and activation you can't do anything with them.  you can then purchase them online, install from the discs you already have and use them right away - no waiting.

Yeah, it's a hefty 25GB. They did used to have a partial download but it was only the actual programme and the bare minimum but you need the discs for a full installation. Even if they say it's the download version I suspect it's still only a partial one.

I am not sure, but you will probably want to keep EZDrummer as it gives you an extra kit to use in SD3. The EZ kits take on a new lease of life with the extra features of SD3

I doubt that you could transfer a license which you used to upgrade/crossgrade. But maybe I completely misunderstood what you mean. :s

Thanks Glyn & Rain...both of you have good points. (The transfer license thing was just a fleeting thought).

Rain, did you get CSR? (just saw it for sale at KVR for $75)

Talk about a coincidence - I was thinking of maybe selling a few that I never use and ended up on that particular KVR forum last night (well, more like, very early this am). First time I ever visited that place.

I still haven't bought it no - as much as I wanted it, I kept postponing. $75 probably is the best deal ever though. Maybe at the end of the week once we're through with the wedding/traveling budget. :)

I really appreciate you remembering and pointing that one out though. Man, that's nice. :)

Striking, those words have been the rise & fall of my terminal addiction (VST that is)....(I have it saved as my favorites on every computer I'm on).

You can practically get software at almost 50% off (just have to make sure the seller is a regular there AND has positive feedback from other buyers (there's a thread just for that too)). I go there daily......(next is to try and pick up Alchemy hopefully with a few soundbanks included).

    @Rain: You're most welcome.....
There's a lot of really good info and freeware at KVR (besides the marketplace)

It's a very safe place to buy. Obviously, you should buy from established members and then it's virtually risk free. Apart from a lot of secondhand software becoming NFR (Not For Resale) and certain companies incredible ability to drag their feet on transfers (*cough* Spectrasonics *cough* Presonus *cough* and a few others) it's a great way to buy. KVR members also have a great ability to announce things the second they happen. Top tip - don't dwell on the purchase. It'll be gone before you can say 'I really wanted that but I'm a professional ditherer'.

In fact, my next purchase may very well be the upgrade this SD.

After over a month of working on a mix and trying all kinds of plug-ins I've bought this summer, the best mix I have come up with was done entirely with native plug-ins (excluding Amplitube on the bass and Mix2IR for guitar cabinets).

I have tried inserting the various compressors and eq's I bought this summer only to find out that, not only was I able to replicate the behavior and even some of the desirable "warmth" with my basic set of plug-ins, but their flexibility actually allowed me to take it a few steps further and to work out an even better mix.

Hence why I ended up on KVR, thinking of selling a few licenses. lol So EZ Drummer, Scarbee and my cabinets IR stood the test and this is probably where I'll be putting my money - SD, samples and IRs.

I'd be pretty curious to go back to Sonar and try to see how what I've learned in the last few months would translate, using nothing but bundled plug-ins.

It's too bad we don't have a forum here to buy/sell gear or software.....
We all have GAS, so why not share it? Besides, most of us here are regulars and everyone has something they'd want to get rid of. Being a smaller forum here, it'd be easier to trust someone.

I'd definitely like to know if someone was selling their shtuff...(even if I can't afford it...lol)

I jumped in on this crossgrade as well. (Before I install everything) are all the DVD's included in this package authorized or do I have to purchase any authorizations for these SDX's? (For example: Custom & Vintage, Lost N.Y. Studios, Metal Foundry, Music City etc..)

    I'm hoping all are included....

    Thanks,
