PRV weirdness

This just started today. No changes to pc at all for some time. If I open a project and select a midi track at the beginning of the project (before midi notes start), the PRV will open fully instantly. Once notes start, then it is quite slow to open the further into the song i go. Then the outer frame of the window takes 4+ seconds to develop. Anyone seen this? Thanks - Shep

Edit - I cleared the Picture Cache to no avail.

Why would it matter how many clips I have in a midi track? I want them separate for copy/paste use. I decided to try bouncing the track to a single clip, and the magic came back...

Try unchecking "Non-destructive MIDI editing" under Customization > Editing in Preferences. If this is enabled, every clip will be a slip-edited copy of the entire track (assuming you got there by splitting up a track), which means there are effectively a lot more events to handle.
