Proposal to Cakewalk: XI Studio Expanded

OK I won't pretend that I'm happy with having to pay for something I consider to be rectifying a deficiency in how the browsing works in X1 but I am prepared to compromise by suggesting that Cakewalk release a $29 Expansion for Studio with the enhanced browser features, notation export and Soundcloud support but without the Producer only things like the channel strip etc. I think it's a fair compromise and I'd be willing to pay for that and I think it would make good business sense both in terms of sales and maintaining customer loyalty, particularly Studio users because I'm sure I'm not the only one upset about the fact we have to buy Producer and the expansion just to get some basic improvements in functionality we have all wanted since X1 was released. Not everyone needs the "Producer" features or extra plugins, but implementation of plugin replace from the browser is not a Production focused feature anyway - it is simply good ergonomics.

Doesn't history tell us everything comes in Studio - just a couple of years later.

I think they got overwhelmed over problems had to be fixed not being able to do a full version upgrade available and came up with this in-the-middle thingy coming out with something new this year.

I simply don't want a full package like Producer with every thing in it - I want a daw being the recording tool handling operations on tracks and mixing these - with a package of plugins I have chosen elsewhere from my needs and wallet size. In this way I can switch daw without it being a catastrophy. I don't want interface cluttered with ProChannel everywhere. Producer is a dead end street for me and will never happend - so no Expanded for me.

But Cake is their full rights to release whatever products they want - but I doubt one being Studio Expanded.

Yep that's why I don't need Producer either. But many users have been wanting the browser to work the way they are now doing it in "Enhanced" for as long as X1 has been out and it would be a good addition to the functionality of Studio as much as Producer - it is not really a Production related feature, it's just rectifying a limitation that is present in the current browser system (especially compared to other apps like Studio One that have this feature already) - it's basic workflow, not a "premium" feature
