Beatscape? Where the heck is it?
I know that Beatscape is generally loathed (from what I've read here) and I never really got on with it but I did find uses for the REX content. Here's the problem: Where the heck is it? I haven't got it installed and if I run my set-up files from the original X1 download and go to the advanced installation it isn't listed as a device that I can install. What have I done, or what should I do? Grum

I could be wrong but I thought it was on a separate install disk.

You have to install Beatscape as it does come on a seperate disc. Beatscape and the 4 GB samples/ rex files are on disc 2 of Sonar X1. Once installed, get the update for Beatscape from the Cakewalk site. I like beatscape but I think Cakewalk could have developed it better. I used to love using Cyclone back int the day with a midi controller. I then purchased a M-Audio Trigger finger and I couldn't stop using Cyclone. Now using Beatscape and my old trigger finger is sort of a hassle because I can't use midi learn or click the GUI and have Sonar know what cell I want to trigger in Beatscape. What happened Cakewalk??? See the old SOS Sonar Cyclone tutorial. http://www.soundonsound.com/sos/jan06/articles/sonarnotes.htm Cakewalk, Please Update Beatscape to better use Midi Peace.

Cheers guys. I have just dug out my Sonar 8.0 disks from the back of the cupboard under the stairs as that is the last disk version I owned. I suppose I should be glad that another 4 gigs of data wasn't downloaded when I did X1 as that took a couple of days to do due to various problems. Grum.

Yup best use the DVD I think IIRC there's about 2.5 gig of actual content there for DrOcto, might as well use it I say.

I have to admit that Dr.Octo has played vastly more of Beatscape's content than Beatscape has. The "Too many slices" (or whatever it says) error message is a bit of a downer though. Grum.

Oh what a sod! The 1.02 update won't work without Sonar 8 being installed. Great. It looks like Dr.Octo will always play Beatscape's content. Grum.
