Recommended Install Route?

I've had X1 PE since it's initial release...back in the day.  I understand a lot of you have had a hard road to travel and many have had it not so hard while going through the various iterations/releases of X1.  Having read many of the threads regarding the installation process, there hasn't really been anything new for a clean box going through the X1 installation process for the first time.  What I am wondering is what is the best way to do this assuming that my box is currently running Sonar v8 on Windows XP?  I have no plans and so far no real need to upgrade to Windows 7.  Any thoughts or recommendations would be great.

The only problem with the install for me is the X1 installer wants to put the added VST sample content on the C drive. You get an option for Session Drummer 3, but not Studio Instruments, and had I known the "additonal content" was a bunch of wave data I would have dumped that to the sample drive as well.
    Shame on Cake for this!
Put the dll on the C drive and ANY/ALL "resources" where they belong, on the "Sample" drive.
Maybe its just me, but c'mon Cake, this is supposed to be a "Professional DAW"; right?
