    Thank you Offnote!

What is particularly weak about this combination? I was concerned about the processor.

    yeah, read this:

"The early results on AMD's dual-core Turion 64 X2mobile processor are not encouraging, either in terms of performance or power management."

    http://www.zdnet.co.uk/reviews/cpus-desktop/2006/06/26/dual-core-amd-turion-slow-out-of-the-gate-39277339/

also, what OS you have? if 64bits 4GB is not enough.

My Gateway AMD Turion 64 X2 really bogged down trying to run Sonar 8.5.
I could at best do 2 tracks, max! So X1 is not an option. Becuase of that,
I purchased an Acer i5 for less than $570, X1 rocks on it!
I`m amazed in the processing power of the i5 series.
I use an external USB 2.0 audio card, so don`t expect the on board sound
chipset to be worthy. I`m using the M-audio Fast track Ultra, 4 Gig of memory,
    Win 7 64bit.
    Good luck.
