Is the kick routed to the same audio output as other kit pieces that you can hear? If not, you need to make sure you have an audio track set to receive the Kick's output as input and have Input Echo enabled on that audio track.

And, of course, you need to make sure controller is sending the right note number for the Kick. Rather than customizing the controller's setup for different drum synth mappings, you'll probably want to use a drum map on the MIDI tracks.

[size=3 font="times new roman"]once i loaded SD3 the kit was already mapped. everything sounded but the kick. i checked the trigger and it's good. i tried to create a new drum map but had no luck. even tried loading the kit to a stereo SD3 track and still no luck. in the past i have used electric kits to trigger SD2 and Redrum and never had an issue.

Record the MIDI and look what MIDI note is recorded for the kick
