PRV snap settings not working in drum grid pane (X1c)?

OK, so I followed the instructions for the additional PRV specific snap settings in X1c here:

http://www.cakewalk.com/Support/kb/reader.aspx/2007013258

However, the PRV snap setting doesn't work for me in the drum grid pane. It still just follows the global snap setting. This was the first time I'd tried it out since installing the X1c update, and the first track I tried editing was a drum track with a custom drum map. I finally tried it on another track in the normal piano roll note pane and the PRV snap settings worked as described.

Something I'm missing, or is this a(nother) bug?

EDIT: Grrrr, and it's annoying me that the forum software won't work correctly with Firefox. Grrrr! I'm annoyed today!

This is a known bug that has been validated and confirmed by Cakewalk. I've submitted a bug report. I guess you could also do the same. This may push them to fix this.  I'm still hoping this gets addressed in a quick fix. Very frustrating since I love the idea of a separate snap setting in the PRV and also love using the drum maps..

    Peace!

Hey, thanks for confirming. I will submit a bug report, and agreed, very frustrating. I've been loathe to be sharply critical of Cakewalk during the various and sundry imbroglios surrounding the X1 saga, but seriously, come on... No, I'm not a software engineer, I've no understanding of how the testing phase works, but I'd think it would surely occur to someone to test this feature in the other entire half of the PRV's workspace to see if it works. And actually, I guess I should say the other two-thirds of the workspace, I read a thread earlier today that said similar about the controller pane.

Guess I'll just wait for yet another bug fix before X1 has a workflow that suitably matches it's potential...

If I wasn't doing this I'd just be doing something else...

Yeah, they really seemed to have dropped the ball when they "simplified" the snap settings in X1. Now they are scrambling to revert to what they had in 8.5.3 and earlier, and are making a sloppy job of it.

It's a real shame, because right now the messed up snap behavior is the one big thing keeping me from using X1; I'm back to 8.5.3 until they fix it.

9 months after the release, 3 bug fixes - and still one of the most basic things is messed up - snap settings which were Perfect in 8.5. Astonishing, really, how things got so scrambled in this release, and keep staying scrambled. I think maybe in the future we'll hear the real story of how X1 came to be. Considering what a mess it's been, it seems like there just Have to be some hairy stories from behind-the-scenes about it's creation. A perfectly good program, Sonar 8.5, gets turned into This--? It's inexplicable. There has to be more to the story. RB

Yep that is a confirmed bug, there are several others that are drum map specific, you may or may not find.

The workround I'm using is to assign the drum out to a drum synth/hardware edit as required then change the port back to the map when finished.
