midi import position problem

Whenever I import a midi clip, Sonar always places it some random location that roughly corresponds to it's current idea of where the "end" of my track is. How do I get it to import the clip at the current marker? --Neil

MIDI clips should always import to the Now time. Is that not what's happening?

+1 to Brundlefty and maybe you need to set your snap to grid settings for a more accurate import.

I'm not talking about being off by a beat or something, it gets placed WAY WAY off. For example: I create a track. I enter 20 bars of MIDI data into the track. Now I change my mind and delete all the MIDI data and decide to import something I have on disk. The import will ALWAYS end up at bar 20. Well, "always" with caveats. If I import it by dragging from the browser gizmo on the right hand side it lands in the correct place, but if I use the right click menu or any other method it ends up at bar 20. --Neil

Yes but where have you got the NOW time marker when all this is happening?

Have you got it docked @ 01:01:000 or somewhere else?

The now marker is where I want the clip to land, but it's being ignored.
