Importing Audio

Hi there guys. I'm just new to this forum so take it easy on me if I'm asking a silly question here. I'm having a problem importing audio tracks onto X1. I'm following the manual as best I can but still no joy. I'm clickinf FILE, Import, Audio, then selecting the track. The creen gives a little flicker but no audio track is being imported. Any help would be greatly appreciated as I'm desperately trying to get some recording done. Thanks in advance Mark

Welcome to the forum. What sort of audio is it? In the project do you have tracks already?

Hi John, thanks for the reply. I'm trying to import a backing track which is an MP3. There are currently no other tracks in the project. I've basically inserted an audio track and am now trying to import a file onto it

I can't think of a reason why you don't have it in the track unless it is there but beyond the scroll of the screen. Zoom out to the full project to check. Try shift+F Fit project.

No it definitely didn't import John, there's only 1 track in the project just now. Also it only flickered for a second so it wasn't enough time for anything to be imported. I'm wondering if I need to change some settings somewhere?

Is this the "Set the timecode at now" thing? I've set that to 1:01:000

Try drag and drop. Use the folder where the audio is and select the audio and drop it into the project.

I don't know what to tell you except try some other audio as a test if you haven't already.

I've tried wav and flac files and nothing is coming in via audio import.

Well as far as I can tell it should unless the install is not fully correct. Try reinstalling X1. Importing is a basic ability of all Sonars.

I'm thinking the same thing here - perhaps reinstall the program. First, check you soundcard driver that it is up to date. And one more thing, you may try to reboot, and open a new project and try to import audio. Possible that the project you have open is somehow corrupt... Last but not least, call tech support. They don't keep you waiting too long.
