Send/trigger NRPN messages using Expression Pedal or Sustain Switch (Sonar Producer)

For live performance, I would like to use Sonar to send (trigger) a simple NRPN message (4 bytes) or a Sysex message (longer), like Arpeggiator ON/Off or sending a whole patch using sysex, after receiving a conventional Control message from a Foot Switch (Sustain) On/Off or Expresion Pedal (Volume) 0-63 On 64-127 off.

Is that possible?

This is for live performance, not sequences allow, and I don't want to buy a MIDI Controler Pedal for that, at least not before exploring all software options.

I've read that Sonar 8.5 have sonething called Matrix view, something that looks it could be trigger several types of event (Wav, Sequences, etc), but not too clear on how it is trigger, not much information available.

Any help would be appreciate.

yes, it's possible, the reason you haven't received any answers yet is because you're in the wrong forum.  this is for HOME STUDIO which is a different product than Sonar 8.5 Producer.  you need the Sonar Producer and Studio forum (and not the X1 forum either).

in sonar 8.5, just open the SYSX view by going to VIEW>SYSX

you can send or receive SYSX using that box.
