    Welcome to the forum.
The only thing I can think of is to make sure the sampling rate and bit depth match for SONAR and the mic.
I don't know how to check what settings the mic has, but in SONAR it's at the bottom and is usually 44,100 Hz at 16-bit.
Maybe change the Driver Mode in SONAR to MME if it's not there already.

All of SONAR's audio settings can be changed by clicking the Options button at the top and then Audio.
I don't know what the settings are for the mic or how to find them. The default settings should be in the manual, though, and there may be a software mixer for the mic. Did it come with a software disk? Including a Help file?
Speaking of which, a reading of the Getting Started section of SONAR's help file may be in order. Plus there are tutorials that can help you get set up and show you the basics of working with the program.
