Sonitus compression sux balls?

is this because i dont know enough about the settings or what? I have this old zoom ps-02 hardware, and its compression is awseome. When I use sonitus i can barely even notice a difference. To me it just sounds like s very slight volume difference. Is virtual compression difficult to emulate or something or what? Also, did cakewalk snatch cakewalk limiter from X1? Theres no limiter anwhere?

Sorry, cheeseburger, but Rico's right. The Sonitus Compressor is top-notch. But it's a general-purpose compressor, not specifically designed for volume maximizing. (Although it will do that job just fine if you know what you're doing!)

If you want a simpler plugin for loudness, grab a copy of the free LoudMax. Does what the name implies.

I'm with Dave and Rico.  The Sonitus Compressor is a staple in my music and the music I do for clients.  Although I don't use the limiter, the compressor works nicely.
By the way, try to get used to one compressor before hunting around too much.  Once you get the basics down,  you'll be better off when you put a "different" one in the slot.  If you aren't too sure how to use a compressor, you can do more harm then good.

Print that out, frame it and hang it on the wall!

Is this another of those - throw some mud and never come back posts? When you think about the tone of the OP, maybe we are offering too much help.
