The thing I want to know about SoundCloud upload. Really, it's a question.

Will I be able to upload my files directly to protected pages and folders? I want to make sure that only people with authorization can get to them and I'll need to manage all the different permissions and stuff right in SONAR cause it'd be really handy for me to upload dailys and stuff for my clients but the thing is, see, I don't want client X knowing that client Y exists.

How easy is that gonna be?

An older boy made me ask.

    Not sure Mike,
Would the "make track private" and then a direct link to that track not do this?  Good question!

It seems like that's the direction I'm thinking about.

I just looked at Soundcloud's information.

Soundcloud lets you hide some stuff like stats for plays and stuff... I guess so no one can see that only 4 people listened to your new hit single.
That feature costs €79 or approx 104 U.S.D.

To have actual privacy settings, as you might while entertaining various clients with their previews, Souncloud charges €250 or roughly 340 U.S.D. per year.

I wonder, if I pay the $340 will I be able to manage all the privacy settings directly from SONAR... or will I have to take the time to open a web browser?

    Thanks for considering the question.

    best regards,
    mike

    That is a good question...

Uploading a song to Soundcloud takes you through a heap of settings per track, more being available as you upgrade your account. I guess the question would be if they have implemented a fully functioning Souncloud interface or browser for uploads to Soundcloud, or just a way to dump audio onto your Soundcloud profile. If the former I'd say yes, if the latter I'd say: not the way you describe here. Thre is a chance that you'd have to edit your setings on the Soundcloud Dashboard. If you can do all that from within Sonar I'll be damn impressed!

on soundcloud you can choose to make the track private and only invite certain people to be allowed to use it.

I think the question was if you can set it to completely private from within Sonar when dumping music into Soundcloud

Yeh M ,  Hopefully can get a response before upgrade but if not, Im sure you can go in after the fact and make necessary changes or load 'em manually.  I use the free version and it seems to work great for things like this.
One thing to do is create 2 accounts, one to use and the other to monitor ideas such as this. This is why I initially went with sound cloud for privacy issues.  Smart move on Mikes part  ;)

See what you mean. I have 3 accounts: One for my own BS, one for business (upgraded to premium) and one for the band. I think Soundcloud is the best thing to hit the internet since Skype. At least it's usefull I'm sure detailed explanation of the service in Sonar will be presented in due time.
