How do I obtain this effect(described below)?

Hey guys, I'm new to the forum but not entirely new to SONAR X1 Producer.
So I wanted to ask how would I be able to recreate the effect located between 1:16-1:26 of this song and is reoccurs several times:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Pnj0dbVN9ao
I guess I would describe it as a gust of wind that speeds up and slows down
and 2:45-2:52 of this song:
http://www.youtube.com/wa...ZWr8X2OziU&ob=av3e
basically the same thing
How could I recreate that using the material on the X1 Producer? Or if possible what would I have to type in the search engine to get effective results if these could be obtained in the form of samples/loops etc?
Thanks in advance

err, white noise and a filter sweep?

Get a synth that has a white noise generator, long decay and sustain.

Sweep LPF (or potentially a BPF) up and down.

    Mushy euro trance win!

You might find a patch that's close to it in either Z3ta or Pentagon.  Then tweak it to your liking.

First thank you for your responses
    Second I apologize for my follow-up question(s):
So I must mention that my sound synthesis abilities are quite rudimentary.
I found a preset in PSYN II that closely resembles what I am looking for. I'm sure I could find it in Z3TA as well. How do I obtain said white noise? When you say sweep LPF do you mean that I should automate the LPF to rise and fall?

    Hey,

Find a synth that has a noise source amongst its ocilliator sources, it looks like there's a couple of nice simple freeware synths that do. It doesn't need to be anything fancy, just a simple subtractive mono synth will do.

Use the white noise source and sweep the filter up through it, you should get that sort of windy swooshing noise. It will swoosh up as you open the filter (and it lets more high end through) and down as you go the other way.

You could also just dl some noise samples, drop them in an audio track, and apply the filter from the fx bin.

    Have fun,

    I know I shouldn't but I just can't resist....

The gentleman asked..." How do I obtain said white noise?"

I respond (floating just a bit above the gutter today!:))

play at obscenely loud stage volume levels like I did back in the 80s......you'll have white noise permanently in your brain the rest of your life...the ocean in your head is actually quite soothing sometimes ! :)
