importing audio into layers

I have about a zillion audio tracks from a recording session made on Logic. Different takes were recorded to different layers, after the session the whole audio folder was exported. So now I have tracks that I would like to import into X1, but to different layers on the same track, so I can create composite tracks easily. Any idea how this could be done?

That's going to be a pickle. I don't think it's possible. A Sonar project just references audio files and display them where you place them in the GUI. Only sollution as I see it is to manually place every audio file where you want it - tedious, I know.

If you can, try to save the Logic project as an OMF file. I dunno if track layers are included in OMF files tho, perhaps someone in the know will tell us.

Or bounce out every track as long audio files and name them with layer placemen and throw them into Sonar to whatever track and layer you'd like

OMF dit not work, for whatever reason, so I guess I'll just have to import manually.

I see. OMF is an underdeveloped file system IMO. My suggestion of bouncing out entire tracks will probably be easiest - at least the most fool proof one. You could also experiement with Broadcast Wave files etc. I usually use that when brining audio from a Nuendo based studio and over to my Sonar studio but I'm not sure how Logic can/will export this and make this hassle free.

Anyway, I hope it'll work out for you. If you have the Logic projects still available then nothing is lost I suppose

    Good luck!
