Strange Tempo View
The scale at the left of the view starts at 12.5 and then increases by units of 12.5. Why is this? I have searched for some way to have it start at, say, 20 and increase by units of 10 or... anything but fractions of a beat which I believe I would never use. Can't find it. John

Use the Tempo View Vertical Zoom Controls to change the scale.

Easy. See the little magnifying glasses over by the scroll bars? You can either click the +/- buttons or grab the little slider in between the 2 which opens up a little slider dialog. You can do this on either the horizontal or vertical axis.

Bristol_Jonesey Beat me by 6 minutes Chappel! But not because I'm faster, but because I started sooner.

It would be nice, though, if you could specify a zoom level that would scale the grid to whole numbers. Except when inserting a ritard. or accel., I almost never need tenths of beats per minute resolution.
All else is in doubt, so this is the truth I cling to. My Stuff

Except when inserting a ritard. or accel., I almost never need tenths of beats per minute resolution. That would be a nice preset. I have used small increments in temp before. Lots of times, actually. Wherever I had a flat line in the tempo I would draw shallow waves in the tempo so that the tempo was always changing a little bit. Very subtle speedups and slow downs. Just another way I've tried to "humanize" my recordings. That and too many years spent playing with live drummers. That is the only use I've found for small increments in the tempo map.
