VSTs and crashes
After about a week of experiencing a new instability in X1C, I'm finally coming out about it hoping for a little help. I've tracked the issue down to VSTs. Symptom is X1 locks up, and if I let it "die naturally", a little popup with a path to the VST that caused the problem appears. The VST causing the problem varies, and even appears to be stock X1 plugs (boost, vc, etc.) What has changed is a recent upgrade to jbridge, and likely a problem between chair and keyboard with the installation. Obviously this is not an X1 issue, which is why I've been sitting on it. My question is this: is there a way to reinstall just the stock VSTs from the install CDs, without having to reinstall the entire X1 app? Any other advice appreciated. :) Edit: Also, I used to have 8.5 installed on this machine, so I have VSTs in the following: c:program files/vstplugins c:program files/cakewalk/vstplugins c:program files(x86)/cakewalk/vstplugins

Yes, you can re-install whichever plugs you want. Just do a custom install from the original DVD and select the ones you want

In the Sonar VST preferences, what folders are you scanning ?, all of the above ?. If you're scanning all of them this could be the problem. If there are duplicate plugs, eg: you're scanning both the 64bit and the 32bit of the same plugin, that will cause all kinds of issues. I doubt Jbridge will be the issue, then again ... anything's possible. I would first make sure that you're not scanning 32 and 64 bit versions of the same plug. It happened to me when I first installed x64 and I had quite a time working it out. Let us know how you go. Cheers - Cliff

Thanks for the go-ahead, jonesy. Cliffr, you are correct, sir. *hangs head* I got reckless and had jbridge looking at everything, so I believe you have me there. Like I emphasized in the OP, nothing but pilot error here, all the bakers can relax. :P Edit: Update..days later stability is back to X1C. If your X1 isn't acting stable, I highly recommend you take the time to research driver/VST issues, post for help and/or contact support... many problems are fixable!
