How to create a duplicate of a project?

The way I did it, was I opened up the project that needed duplicating, save as a different file name. But when I played the project, no sound would come through. I checked to see the Audio Files and they were all there including the associated files on clips. I see the clips and they have no waveform. Just the (busy) on each clip with no waveforms. I have tried recomputing the pictures and bouncing audio clips.

I'm sure there is a better way to duplicate projects than this.

Thanks

"save as a different file name. * But when I played the project"

    * did you by any chance move the project someplace after saving it but before playing it?

If so try checking "save audio files with project"

Im not sure I get you.....

I opened the proj that needed duplication.... Save As different file name (with "Copy all audio with project" ticked), closed down the program and opened the DUPLICATED (The one I saved as different file name) project and All I get is Busy clips and no sound.

Hope this clarifies my last post ;)

OK I was hoping it would be something simple... but if you are just saving it and opening where you saved it it must be something less simple.

I do Save As many times a day and never have any trouble.

I can't think of much else to recommend other than a reboot while hoping everything works out fine..

I'm pretty sure 'busy' means its repainting (making new graphics for) your waveforms. How big is this project? If its a lot of tracks, that may take awhile, and I'm not sure it will play until its done.

Try letting it run a bit till the waveforms are done loading. Also check the routing of your tracks/master bus.

Obstacles are what you see when you take your eyes off the road

    Thanks Mike for your innput.

Myuzishin: No that isn't the problem. This isn't one where you sit and wait for the busy to go away if you know what I mean ;)

Right, so I found the culprit. For some reason my playback timing master got changed to none!
Mike: IT WAS SIMPLE! Sometimes we overlook the abvious!LOL
