Problems creating templates

Spend the last hour creating a template for omnisphere with X1C.
 
Setup 8 audio tracks / and nine midi tracks...   renamed the first of these midi tracks as midi control.
 
My intention is to use the midi controller to controller the mix within omnisphere ...  but for some reason the 'display automation on' just doesn't remember the setting in the synth template.
 
Any ideas...???
