no audio playback - 'no audio devices' message

When I open Home Studio, I get the following message: 'There are no audio devices for the current driver model on your system. Please go to Options-Audio and choose a different driver model.' However, when I go there, no options are presented for the playback timing master. I have modified playback settings in Windows 7 in order to set my M-Audio soundcard as the default device, but to no avail. Any suggestions? Thanks.

what soundcard are you using?  which version of Home Studio?

IF you're using your onboard soundcard then go to OPTIONS>AUDIO and change the driver mode to MME and then let the waveprofiler run.  (if you're using SHS6 or below then go to OPTIONS>AUDIO>ADVANCED)
