Strange audio metronome behavior

This just started happening and I don't know if it's a setting that I unwittingly (or maybe nitwittingly) changed or if it's a bug. When I use the audio metronome to count in to add a new part, my existing MIDI tracks start playing shifted by the same number of measures as the count-in. In other words, after a 2 measure count-in my audio starts playing properly and 2 measures later the MIDI starts playing from the beginning, out of synch with the audio. Playback is fine and if I punch into record while playing it's fine. If I switch to a MIDI metronome, all works well also. I just loaded the X1c patch and that didn't help. It happens with both old and new projects. Any ideas? Thanks. Doug

This seems to happen with some soundcards/drivers. Have you recently changed interfaces, driver modes, or updated drivers?

In any case, you might try switching driver modes from ASIO to WDM or vice versa, and see if it makes a difference.

    And is it all projects?

I tried changing the driver mode after it started happening and it didn't help. Haven't changed or updated anything. The only thing I did recently (and I can't say for sure if the problem existed before) was to load and listen to some old Cakewalk Pro projects that I had backed up on CD. I can't see how that could have caused the problem; I've done this before with no problems. In fact, some of my current projects were started way back when with Cakewalk Pro. Now, even brand new projects exhibit the same problem. I have a feeling I may be reloading X1 from scratch.
