Sounds like it went on one of these things?

unca roggie:  AHA! I just logged onto Walthers to track the order I made awhile ago, and finally saw some INFORMATION:  Order filled at their Wisconsin warehouse;  package received at sorting depot in Wild Gooseneck, New Jersey;  loaded on the back of a seventy-two year old tortoise, at Freeloaders Gulch, Nebraska;  spotted crawling along Highway 15B at 6:45 am, January 27th, just outside of Hogs Anus, Georgia;  picked up by a bald eagle whose talons just missed decapitating the tortoise, in a parking lot of the Piggly Wiggly store, in downtown Barfaloma, New Hampshire, on January 28th;  received at the Chino, California Bird Sanctuary and Exotic Dancing Emporium, at 3:15 am this morning.  Sounds like its getting close! It'll be another Christmas morning for me, soon!

    They must be using UPS.......

It is football season. Everyone know's that UPS employees play football in the warehouse with the packages... or soccer.

The championship for Australian Rules Football just finished and the Rugby World Cup is still going on so I'm sure they get a little of that action in as well...

Yeah - Geelong walloped Collingwood by 38 points. Great match until the 4th quarter.

My Guy Randy, walks the packages in from the road.

He likes my Dog a bunch.

And he's always happy and excited to get to drop off more crazy electronics stuff out at my shack in the woods.

Brown saves me a lots of gasoline.

    best regards,

Brown brings me down. When getting a package from the USA I always ask for US postal service if available. For some reason UPS has no trouble in charging Canadians more in fees than the purchase price of the item they're delivering.

We need to keep the post office alive.

Don't tell Spacey, cause I told him I was saving up for a mic...  I can't help surfing ebay looking for the sleeper deals and this guitar model has been on the bucket list for a while.

I bought it from a real nice guy up in Birmingham Al.

The irony is that I've actually shopped at Gryphon Strings in Palo Alto California... it's a fantastic shop. And, Jan 12th is awfully close to my birthday. :-)

Does your wife know a special TV blonde will be showing up?

In order, then, to discover the limit of deepest tones, it is necessary not only to produce very violent agitations in the air but to give these the form of simple pendular vibrations. - Hermann von Helmholtz, predicting the role of the electric bassist in 1877.

Re:I wish UPS would show up. October 06, 11 9:21 AM (permalink)
So I was at FAMU when my UPS guy tried to drop off the guitar and he needed a signature.

When I got home I called UPS's 1-800 number and tried to do a pickup at their terminal.

They got back to me and said the truck would be out until after closing and that I could stop by in the morning or they would come by in the afternoon.

I said "where's the truck now?"

    And they told me.

Then I asked... "Is Randy driving?"

    They said "yes".

Then the person tells me where the truck will be in 30 minutes and I said... "great, I'll go meet him."

I jumped in the car and drove up the road and my guy Randy was waiting for me.

He says "Ah I was thinking you'd be in the van, but then I recognized your car" (I was in my wife's car.) And he gives me my nice new (used) guitar. Then he says, "You know, I still can't get Go-Go to let me pet him..."

I sure like Randy and my UPS service.

I'm gonna tear up some speakers today!

    :-)
