Move a track from one project to another project in X1?
I have a number of audio tracks with effects in the effects 'rack', and split audio clips [some muted etc] i need to move from one project to another somehow. Is it possible to copy a whole track from one project to another? I want to move a track, including the effects bin if possible, and the several audio clips that make up that track, and i want those clips in the very same locations in the new project. Is there a way to do this. I noticed there is a feature called 'move to track folder' whe you right click on a track. Is this a way to do this? Thanks.

OK all you need to do is open both and drag and drop what you want. FX as well.

Yes, it's possible, allthough I don't know about the FX bin; I'd need to experiment. You need to have both projects open and make sure the now time for both is definitely at the beginning. Highlight the clip(s) in project one, then Ctrl-C. Make project two the focus, click on the track widget area of the destination track to make sure it's chosen, then Ctr-V. You may need to check your Preferences to make sure you hadn't checked the box that opts to have only one track open at a time. John

Hi John, Just tried dragging one track with effects (GR4 and Sonitus reverb) from one song to another and only the wave portion came over. The effects did not. What am I doing wrong? Rimshot

Drag the named effect across from the one bin to the other. I just tried it and it works; I shrunk the project panes first so I could place them side by side.

Can't you drag the whole project from the Browser to the new project and then delete all tracks but those you want to keep?? Just wondering, because I do not use Browser very often.

I have done this before and everything transferred. The only problem I found was that some of the preference settings from project 1 were copied to project 2. I posted about it but nobody else seemed to have this issue.

like mentioned, just delete everything else, and save as a new project... unless you're trying to import into an existing project. control click all the unwanted tracks and hit delete.
