help - project wont load

    big project ( 30-40 tracks) won't load all of a sudden.  i realize it is likely due to a plugin but i've tried opening the project and disabling all plugs.  even tried the shift key during X1 boot trick to not load plugs,. 

nothing seems to work.  and.... this is the second time i am experiencing this with different projects. 

i believe this started to occur right after applying guitar rig to a track.  my system is 64 bit and the GR is in 64 bit mode

extremely frustrating

why does this happen ?  can i restore my tracks without sacrificing anything ?  

any thoughts ?


--even went into audio folder for this project and removed (saved in another folder temporarily) several audio files, perhaps 1/3 of the files.  still the project does not load.  I'm livid.  this has never happened before in previous sonar versions.   this would be the second project i lost this way.

    ok so the project loaded after i left it to process overnite.  i dont know how long it took, but i left it after 30 mins of processing (ie, when i opened the project, the cursor remained as the hourglass) to continue to process over nite.  In the morning, i found it to have loaded.
    My next question is: what could cause a project to take so long to load ??  While i had it loaded, I notice that my drum tracks folder took a minute or so to open, whereas other track folders opened as soon as i clicked on it. so, i assum the problem is within the drums folder.  I have some loops and 1 instance of the drum synth that comes with X1.  So, i bounced the synth down to an audio track and deleted it.  however, the drum track folder still seems to take a long time to open when clicked.   weird.  could it be caused from too many loops ?   a ram issue ?  is my loop drive bad (i have my loops on a third and separate drive).

    Just see if you can load your last back-up. If that one loads without any problem you only have to concentrate at the differences between the two versions. Otherwise you have to go back step by step to older versions until it loads without problems. Create a new save from your good working back-up and start adding things one-by-one (saving between each add and then load again), until you get the "hang". The moment this happens you found the "offender". Good luck - hope you will sort it out soon.

    thanks, even the autosave copy is affected.
     
    I tried to load the project without plugins - same probelm.  so, i assume it isn't a plugin issue. 
    i believe it must be a loop issue. whether this means a ram issue or a hard drive issue. 
     
    i will try your method out, JClosed, to see which of the loops is offending.

    This might be something crazy like a full up picture cache. Delete it.
