bapu Guitarhacker I spoke to a retired guy the other day. He said he had never been busier in his life. I'm not (and can't) going to retire just yet. The plan is for this to be my last "job" for approx four more years. Then , we'll see. I said it first Ed....you'll never totally retire! Trust me....I know you! I retired in 2000 from normal type jobs...but even then, I was so bored...I had to do something. Retired again in 2005...bored out of my skull. I mean, granted...you take time off, sleep all day, play all night...reverse the pattern when you wanna do stuff during the day...spend some money on toys, see the world...do all the things you've been wanting to do...and then you hit this wall. LOL! Like for me man...there's really nothing else I wanna do other than play around with audio and play live here and there. If God forbid I died today, I died a happy man. I'm quite happy to have that frame of mine at 44. I actually work harder now than I did when I was working a 9-5 job. But the difference here is, I love what I do and it's a choice, not something that's forced. And man...it sure beats doing hot roofing, masonary and truck driving in the snow!! :) But you wait...once you retire man, and do all the stuff you wanna do...it's like "ok this was great...now what do I do?!" It took me a year to start going out of my skull with boredom. I tried everything man...golfing, early morning work outs, close your eyes and point to a place on a map and go there spur of the moment, buy toys, try new things...photography, cycling, rollerblading, jet ski, it's like I got the attention span of a flee for most things and work was just something I always loved over the fun stuff. Go figure...I'm a weirdo anyway. :) Good luck with the new job brother! -Danny

Thinking about it I've never had a 'proper' job. I've often wondered what it would be like though. An over opinionated big mouth that won't be told what to do. What jobs are out there for someone like me? Ahh, I know, I could drive a taxi. Perfect.

There's really only one true retirement, and they tend to put you underground when that happens.
Time for all of you to head over to Beyond My DAW!

They are arbitary periods of time consisting of sixty minutes each, but that's not important right now. But I think your fare structure would allow for a two-day working week - 3 hours on Monday afternoon and 45 minutes on Thursday mornings - and if my calculations are correct you should be able to retire to the Maldives sometime round about October 27th this year, or even sooner if you put in a little overtime.
