[Resolved] Looking for a "Strip Silence" feature in X1 ?

If some are you familiar with Pro Tools, you know of the "Strip Silence" feature that automatically silences the quiet (no signal) parts of a track.

Does X1 have a feature like this ?

Unless I have misunderstood the question, this should work!
Process > Apply Effect > Remove Silence   (works on any selected audio track)

Or to keep it non-destructive, use a gate.

Don't fix it in the mix ... Fix it in the take!

Sorta..but not a plugin...The Strip Silence feature is not a plugin, just a you do it and it's done thing.

No reason to put gates on every track and waste DSP...

Thank you sir !..Exactly what I was looking for. I get so caught up in "add another" plug that the process effects gets forgot sometimes..lol

Thanks !

I see Coda gave you a good answer -- but, you wouldn't have to put a gate on EVERY track.  You could use a bus.

But the "Remove Silence" function in Sonar is obviously what you were looking for (and didn't find on your own, grin).

Actually what the Strip Silence does is "delete" the sections of a clip with no info as if you've gone through and split/trimmed the track yourself.

This not only helps with a better visual map of the parts - it saves resources by not having the computer reading a SILENT part of a wave file. It's a great feature which would be awesome in Sonar.

Hi everyone:
We have this feature in Sonar for a long time now.
It is in Process, Apply Effect and Remove Silence.
Is this what you are looking for?

Dan that's awesome! Thank you.

What's nice in other DAW's is that it shows you in real time how the clips will be changed as you edit the parameters, but this is still a great feature. Thanks!

I had a session with a master engineer tonight and he used this feature to clean up live drums and it was awesome. Has this been added to platinum or something similar that allows you to adjust what you want removed?
