Latest Metal/Clean track.

Here for anyone interested is my latest track, linking it here before I disappear again to work on another.

Thanks for any listeners, comments or feedback. Also thanks to my Uncle Mike O'Neil for writing the opening riff that I turned into a much longer track.

I like the tight guitar playing. Are you planning on adding vocals?

    Best wishes,

Yup as usual I've handed it over to a vocalist friend of mine but he's usually too busy with work to find time to get it done. One day I suppose he will find some time, or maybe not :-)

sounds good, you have three good riffs in this song. some of the drum programming needs a little refining, but it'd be interesting to hear this with vocals. mix is excellent.

Thanks mgh, I agree drum programming still isn't my strong suit.. I have my eye on a simple set of eDrums which will hopefully get me back into the swing. I used to have a Roland kit that I had to sell years back so I had developed the ability to play at an average level.. it's just very hard to keep a groove in your head or get a groove going when you are drawing out the midi notes. :-)

    I totally hear ya...............

I switched over to loops for a long while but then I found myself altering the original idea to fit the loops......

    That doesn't fly well either.

    This is really cool.

The first riff has been done before I'm sure. Some where around the late 80s early 90s. I may be wrong but I'm pretty sure I've heard that riff.

Other than that, this is a really well done bit of work brother! It's kind of like a theme piece that follows a story which makes it that much cooler!

    Well done!

You might be on the right track Guitarpimpa.. that was a great groove (5309)

I can honestly say it wasn't in my conscious when recording this, but can't deny I grew up listening to that stuff :-)

    Thanks Serious & Scotty!

I have no doubt you used the riff and without intent. It just goes to show that we soak up what we hear whether we want to or not.

    Again, a great tune!

    Hey, Sean,

    This sounds really great!

Nice thick sounding layered guitars, great playing and cool changeups throughout the song.  The ending was really the icing on the cake.  The song is going to make a nice, very inspiring bed for your vocalist friend to work with.

    Really nice job, great stuff!

Thanks again everyone, I've handed it over to a friend for vocal duties, but he has a full schedule so I doubt I'll get much in the near future. I've already started playing with another track not wanting to wait. :-)

It turns out that uploading MP3 tracks to YouTube yields far better results than Soundclick or Sound Cloud, so I have also posted the track to YouTube if anyone cares:

I personally like 876-5309, but didn't think this song sounded like that. Your song has a very good melody/hook and I really liked the layering/mix of guitars....the song was nicely mixed as well!! If you can't get your friend to do the vocals, you should really look for someone to collaborate with on this track as it's got a LOT of potential.
I also was humming along, so some decent vocals on this would really make this a hit IMO. Keep posting Sean.
