Wireless Mics for live tracking?

my tracking room is small(8x5) and all instrument mics are tucked back into the walls but the 2 or 3 vocal mics need to be moved around the room for different setups resulting in leads snaking around the floor for clients to stumble and step on.
Is it feasible to replace the current beta58a`s with wireless equivalents.have done searches and Shure are hard to contact and i can`t find out how i would send to the Liquid pre`s?
any educated guesses welcome.

ps:this was posted with IE after firefox ****ed me around for half an hour!

I would not do it. Its one thing to use wireless mikes in a situation that really needs them eg a sax player wondering all around a stage but to avoid a few cables in a small studio such as yours I say forget it. Nothing compares to a signal flowing down a wire! Do you really want to convert your precious audio into some radio frequency, transmit it 2 meters and then convert it all back! Why would you do that. Think Hi Fi and the idea of using wireless mikes would not even rate. (and before anyone jumps in and says wireless mike systems can sound pretty good, I agree with them but if you did a controlled AB test between the cable and the wireless system then you would pick it every time)

They can be more trouble than they are worth. Just set the mikes where they need to be and start practicing zen in the art of mike cables placement! Just be neat with cabling and if you are really concerned tape a few down here and there.

thanks mate:a typically sage response-i`ve saved most of your threads and replies as reference material.
i should know by now that there`s a reason why no-one else is doing something but in my defence i did say i was "just wondering"!
    cheers
