Anyone still use Cakewalk Kinetic?--still has a purpose?

When I re-installed several Cakewalk versions recently, the trial of Kinetic kicked in too. The trial period is almost over - supposedly Cakewalk still sells it. Worth pursuing? Has it been replaced with other tools like Matrix? RB

Randy, you must be digging in the vault.
I remember getting the Kinetic trial version with SHS4, but don't recall seeing it with anything more recent. Kinetic itself was actually discontinued a few years ago.
Were you lucky enough to grab P5 when it was around? It is pattern based, like Kinetic, but more versatile, imo.
I haven't messed around with Matrix, but I believe it is essentially borrowed from P5.

Hiya, Robert - Thanks for the reply. Yes, digging in the vault - When I needed to completely re-install everything on my new computer, I decided to install every version of Cakewalk I have, so I would be sure to have every plug-in possible - knowing some stuff wouldn't work anymore. It's funny isn't it, Kinetic is discontinued, unsupported, but of course its programming still kicks in for a trial period and then asks that you buy it - but you can't. It had a cool splash screen! LOL. Yes, it did have a cool splash screen.
I know what you mean about the plug-ins. Quite a few appeared in only one version. But if you have them, you can use them all with any version.
Do you have a lava lamp yet? That's very important, you know.
