Bug check please - clip colour display issue in Inspector

I've had this bug since X1 came out and it's been present through the patches and also Expanded.
I haven't reported it yet because I can't set out a cleart set of steps to make it happen, but it happens very frequently to me, almost every session.  I can fix it by exiting X1 and reloading.
Here are two screen captures of what I mean.  The first is what things should look like if you open the Inspector and highlight a clip in order to change its colour, say.  The colour choice dropdown is available and all is well.  The second pic is what I get after I've been working on a session for a while - the colour choice is gone and the buttons you click to access these appear as squares with a black square in the middle.  These don't do anything if you click on them.  As I said, the only cure I know of is to exit and reload.  Has anyone else experienced this odd phenomenon?

I have had this happen a couple of times as well - it is annoying when it happens, but it has been so rare, that I cannot find a common thread.

The last time it happened to me, I had created a new edit and had been recording for an hour or so (no, or very few effects) and I attempted to change the clip colors of the best takes and I got the same results as you did.
