It is finished
Done ..26.2 Miles. I must say .. I had tons of fun the first 14 miles or so .... loud music to keep you motivated on the streets and literally over a million people cheering on - lots of neighborhoods had entertainment for us on the side - it was really fun - and I was doing my pace I trained at - 15 minute miles (slow I know) 14-20 started to get rough and less people - cheering on - less street entertainment mile 20 - 26 BOOM!!!!! my legs were gone - it took every ounce of energy I had to move forward my garmin watch/gps was clocking me at 18 and 20 minute mile paces now instead of 15 - and i cant tell you how over whelmed I was by those last 6 miles -- they seemed never ending .. and ruined my chance of finishing 6 and a half hours - I finished in 7:04 well.... I have pictures I'll post tommrow - 2 guys dressed as cave men running - and old guy on stilts - stuff like that - I am just too tired right now

Congratulations on finishing, Mooch. That's no small feat by itself. I ran a 10K many years ago. That was enough for me.

Lots of people don't even finish. You did good. Would you have got round any quicker on a saddle-less bike? I don't think so, although you may have cured any tendency for itching permanently that way. Sterling effort ol' chap.

Good job.... Look, the way I see it, If (and that's a huge honking IF) ....IF I was going to run a marathon, I would consider it a victory of the highest degree just to cross the finish line, and if it was in front of at least one other person.....even better. But just finishing is more than most did who started.

Congratulations, Mooch. Coincidentally, by drive to work is 26.2 miles. I can't even imagine running that far.

What makes a fighter .vs a quitter is the determination to keep going when everything in you wants to quit. 6 Miles is a hefty distance to go when you feel shot. You have that ol' Rocky spirit! I'm no runner, not really built for long distance running. I have run up to 7 miles non stop and I was ready to die at that point. Great accomplishment man!

Having run in a couple of marathons when I was young (and stupid), then helping set up a few (far less painful), I can say that just finishing IS a huge accomplishment. It's usually the second day after you run that is the hardest to get through (and the most painful), so make sure you keep the legs as loose as you can (spas, creams, Advil, lots of water). Congratulations Mooch!

You're a better man than I, Mooch. Of course, that's not exactly a high standard. It's like being the most honest lawyer or the skinniest Sumo. It's not much of a stretch. Anyway, congrats on finishing. If (and there's no conceivable universe in which this could ever happen, including the universes where dancing unicorns bring you hot coffee and becan in bed while the entire world offers you their combined wealth and magic fairies grant your every wish)*, I were ever to run a marathon, I would seek to hurl myself under a bus after about two blocks. I'm kidding, of course. I wouldn't finish one block. *This universe may also be known to JonBouy as "Thursdays".

I doubt the Bouy tolerates fairies Bubba. (Unless he can get them to pay an extra toll of course.)
