Can't monitor recording

This is driving me crazy, and it seems to be peculiar to SONAR, since I can record with Wavelab just fine. I have assigned the Edit-Preferences to ASIO, and selected the sound card (M-Audio Firewire Solo). I've selected the input in track, and I get levels, but I can't hear what I'm playing. It does record, but I have to record silently. Any ideas?

    Hit the monitor button in the track module - up there with mute and solo buttons.
