Wow... cool stuff.... takes me all the way back to my last year or two in high school and the garage bands I was jamming in at the time.... this was what we did. Sabbath, Uriah Heep, Deep Purple, yeah... you get the idea.

What are those things on Iommi's fingertips? The look almost like some sort of bandages or some sort of fingertip protection.I am amazed that he can play with something on his fingertips... I have never seen a player do that. You can see them at about 12:50 in the vid. I saw Duane Allman's fingers close up once and noticed he bit his nails really short. Julien

Prosthesis. Iommi lost the tip of his middle and ring fingers when they got caught in machinery at work.

i believe he fashioned thimbles, beeswax, and bits of leather to grab the strings it is amazing. i'll tell you, of all the old sabbath i've seen, this concert seems to bring it home the best. ozzy may be speeding, i don't know, he may be clean, but he's so dialed into his voice and the lyrics and the whole thing. bill ward is just on fire. love the ten penny nails going into the kick drum during intermission....

That was back in the days when Ozzy had functioning brain neurons. I remember seeing them live in Philly at the spectrum for $3.00 general admission. It was in 1972 and they were the headline with 2 other bands before them. Glenn Cornick had just left Jethro Tull and started Wild Turkey. They were one of the opening acts: http://www.youtube.com/wa...tY&feature=related you can hear the JT influence. I used to really like this tune.
