The curser and the node thingy

Hi,
I can not figure out how to get out to the envelope node editing mode. The curser has a black triangle with 3 dots attached and pops up when ever I scroll accross a tack window. How to turn this off?

    Shift-click a clip to change the Edit Filter for that track back to Clips (in lieu of selecting it from the drop-down in the track header). You should only see the envelope tool when you are over a track that has the filter set to an envelope type.
