Latency issue

Good afternoon boys and girls. Having a wee bit of difficulty with latency while recording. When I initially arm a track for recording there doesn't appear to be any delay. As soon as I hit either the play or record buttons the latency seems to jump to levels that are almost impossible to track through. I've checked the buffers on my M-Audio sound card and in the preferences window within Sonar and they are the same. I've tried increasing and decreasing these with no effect. Don't know what I've changed since I tracked yesterday. Any help is appreciated. BTW, just upgraded to X1a recently.

Ciao, Dave

Your probably changing the wrong buffers. Make sure to do all these below

    1. Update your driver
    2. Use ASIO Driver mode
    3. Lower the ASIo buffer to 32, 64 , 96, 128, or 256. what ever works best for your pc
    4. Make sure your pc can handle it
    5. when recording, make sure there are no plugns with built in latency, like perfect space and the LP FX
    6. If this doesn't work, run the DPC Latency checker
