Monitoring velocity changes in PRV?

Hi! In Sonar 8.5 I could listen to velocity changes while I was making them. In X1 it is just quiet. Do you what settings I should use to manage this? Greetings! Mikael

what softsynth are you talking about?  X1 doesn't automatically level the velocities of softsynths or hardware synths.

Well, I just mean holding the mouse on top of the midi note, while highering or lowering the mouse you could hear the strength of the note during dragging the mouse at the same time the velocity tails moved up and down. Is that dependent on what type of soft synth you use? As far as I remember it worked with every kind of synth I used in Sonar 8.

you can hear the strength of the velocity using your mouse when dragging the velocity tails in 8.5?  I don't think I ever knew you could do that.  I'll have to go investigate later today.

Yes, there's an option for this, but it's not activated by default in X1.

Press P (or choose Edit > Preferences). Choose the Advanced option at the bottom of the dialog. Then choose the Customization > Editing category.

Then in the MIDI section, put a checkmark next to the option called Velocity Audition.

Thanks Scott (and equality!) that's been bugging me too.

BTW...I'm still getting the "herky jerky" movement of the velocity lines in my my controller lane when adjusting velocity...is there a way to solve this??

This seems to be video driver-dependent. I see this on my main DAW with NVidia 8600GT graphics, but not on a laptop with onboard Intel graphics.

My bug CWBRN-3901 is "Submitted to Development", so apparently Cakewalk are able to reproduce it.
