I would try a reinstall. Sounds like something might have gotten crossed up in the install process. Was it a download? Be sure the files all came on OK....

I had them come in OK but when I transferred them to my DAW via USB stick something got corrupted, and I had to reinstall MC6.  It worked fine on try #2.

I have seen that error a few times when I was working in earlier versions of MC and the program crashed due to some type of glitch.

I've seen this issue in the forums before but I do not recall the specific fix that was discussed.....maybe Beagle can remember the thread.

This can also happen if there is a problem with your audio drivers.

What are you using for an audio interface?  Have you loaded the most current drivers for your audio device?  Did the audio profiler run sucessfully when you first installed MC?

Outdated video driver can also cause bad things like this to happem.

The searching I have done has also turned up drivers and be sure the latest windows updates are installed.... but with XP/SP3... you should be up to date as you can get.
