Missing Session drummer files easiest solution-Please
Well, I am at Sonar X1 expanded. All is fine, except: Every project I load that has session drummer in it or if I try to insert it I get the ever popular cannot find blah blah blah-The blahs are missing midi files-the patterns for the programs. Best part is I do NOT use the friggin' patterns but session drummer wants to see them anyway. What is the easiest (safest?) way to reinstall the stupid midi patterns? Sonar expanded exe does not give you an ioption fot a custom install. The only thing that will run a custom install is the original X1 Prod disk or file. But I am afraid even if I just selct session drummer I will end up with something old that I don't want. Any ideas? Sorry for the long winded post

Did you try rescanning your VSTs? I'm noticing some weirdness with the VST scanner (though not the same issue you're posting). But rescanning seems to solve it for me. Might work for you.

EDIT: Avoided but not fixed. I was learning an old motown song, just as a blues instrumental-so I decided to use th kits from Session drummer 2. That was the issue. Why? I don't know. But i have deleted them from my SD3 menu-Not a solution but it helps The worst part is the patterns it says are missing are there? So how can you fix that? Ridiculous. Very frustrating. And why only smart loops? What a hassle.

Did you do anything with folders? You must of move it for it to get missed. Is the message you getting appear when you open the project or when inserting the SD? Did you use the SD in the project you getting messages about? I am wondering what could change that relocated your folder. What happens if you attempt to use those loops? Will it play? When you get the message, does it offer you to scan/search for them?

It's not missing or moved-that's the problem. Any kits that use Smart loops will not open. This is since X1 expanded. I think maybe I will try re-installing the DSF (extra drum kits) maybe that' will fix it.

Disable your Antivirus. My Norton removed X1c update as "Cloud 9" software. Can you open the folder from Computer menu and see what's in it? You should be able to see all your MIDI loops.

What anti virus? I appreciate the replies but as I said the folders and loops are there. I know my way around the computer, use to be a M$ tech in my younger days. I have done everything except uninstall and completely reinstall X1Expanded from scratch. I just will not use any kits that use smartt loops. They are mostly garbage anyway. The sonic Reality kits are much better, not to mention the few Steven Slate kits. I also have Steven slate drums. And kontakt abbey road drums. I never should have tried ti use those SD2 kits anyway. Thanks for the efforts-it is appreciated. BTW, if I don't use those kits I don't get the errors. So................

You said- you will re-install something. I suggested you disable Antivirus because Norton removed my last update. That's all. You also said it gives you error when you open project. So ok- if it does not- happy for you.

Thanks Frank, I haven't used SD2 or SD3 in a long time -but it sounds like the 'default' folder got changed somehow (I'm assuming there is a default sounds folder, as there is for most sample playback type plugins which includes drum modules). So you might want to look at any settings / options to check that. I don't see how Expanded could have done this, but anything is possible with software :(

The error(which I tried to paste in here but couldn't) as the cannot find is missing dialog box. The path where it said it was looking was\is exactly where the Smart loops are installed. The exact same folder structure\path. No biggie now. I am just not going to use the kits that use smart loops. And you right about expanded couldn't have done this-I was just mad :-( Thanks Frank
