Drag and Drop Icons from the browser [SOLVED]

Was it my imagination or not?  Didn't we have the ability to drag and drop an icon from the browser on to a track?  I know we never had the ability to actually see the icon graphically but we could drag and drop it just the same.  In fact, I found a post of mine stating that fact.

When did it disappear as a feature?

Sixteen hours and no one can either confirm that DnD icons either never existed and I'm delusional or no longer works?

You don't have to tell when it disappeared if it in deed disappeared.  I can reinstall the original and work my way through the updates if it was available at one time.  Or at least open a problem report.

Drag and drop of track icons are working fine in X1E here. Which X1 version are you running?
This may be obvious but make sure that you have the track open so that you can see the icon. If its minimized only the track type icon is visible. Also make sure that you are dragging a recognised icon bitmap type.

I'm in X1c.  These particular Icons could possibly be JPG.  I think that SONAR will display them but maybe that was the problem.  I'll investigate later and report back.

    Regardless, thanks for the answer.

The problem is solved here.  I don't think that the issue was the size of the track because I was trying to DnD over default icons when I was having the problem.  However, to solve a problem I was having with Bitbridge somehow being deleted in an uninstall process when I uninstalled a 32 bit version of SONAR 8.0, I reinstalled SONAR X1 and now the problem has disappeared.

On another note I did notice that if the Bus Pane is overlapping the Track Pane, dragging an icon on a Bus will fall through and land on the Track below it.

BTW, you can also DnD from an open Windows File view on to SONAR tracks and busses.  This solves (temporarily) my beef with the Browser not displaying Icons in a WYSIWYG format.

    I never tried this before...

It does *not* appear to be working here... and I've got too much to do to consider re-installoing for this feature...

    I'm running X1cE...

I made sure that the icon was being displayed "in track" on the TV and dragged factory icons... I see the proper mouse pointer appear (plus sign), but the icon does not change....

    What am I doing wrong???

This is a perfect example of what I expected after expanded was released. X1E is NOT a product, it's an add on to a product that is X1C.

I'm curious Noel. Is X1E the official supported version now? Will all tech requests be answered with X1E as a point of reference? If it doesn't change the base code then expanded should not be an issue in troubleshooting. Should it?

Another thing I noticed is that if you have a track hidden, a DnD dropped icon will shift down one track.  If someone else can reproduce this, I shoot off a bug report.
