No SOLO/MUTE indicator for Busses?
I guess I didn't really notice until today - but if I SOLO or MUTE a BUS, there is no indicator in the control bar or anywhere else other than on the actual BUS strip) that I've done so. So - if I have ONLY the track view visible (ie, no busses showing) and have a BUS solo'd (or muted) - it might throw me off for awhile trying to figure out why 'everything' isn't playing back. IS this "intended" behavior in X1?? If So - what's the logic??

IS this "intended" behavior in X1?? I think it is intended. The Tooltip for the Solo button in the Mix module of the Control Bar says "Solo [Unsolo] all tracks".

So there's NO way for a user to 'visually' see that a bus is solo'd or muted if the bus pane is not showing. How is that a logical design? Hmm. And, gee Dave, that was a fast reply LOL

I just checked 8.5, and soloed buses light the Solo indicator in the status bar, and clicking the status bar indicator will unsolo buses as well as tracks. Not sure why they didn't retain this functionality in X1. Maybe not as intentional as I thought.

All previous versions of Sonar had the status bar where the bus state indicator would light up if solo or mute was on a bus. Now it appears there is NO way to know the state of a bus if the bus pane is not in view. I hate to say it (but I will) -- that's just plain poor design. It's already bitten me a few times trying to figure out why things are not 'sounding' / playing back properly. This happens mostly after being on a phone call and forgetting exactly where I was or what I was doing in Sonar at the time LOL. But seriously - I would call this a bug, frankly. I can't believe the programming minds at Cakewalk think it's a good idea NOT to know the state of a bus??

PS - it's this kind of oversight that actually gets me a bit upset at Sonar X1. Some things that were taken away from Sonar (like status indicator) make it more difficult at times. Ugh.

ye noticed it to.. it creeps me out that another such thing was missed. I can't make sense of why it would be intended. Also you can't drag busses to new location in console view like before. If there was plate juggling going on, then we have alot of smashed china around X1's feet. X1D has gotta be above and beyond the call of duty imho

I know that Benstat and Panup have been doing some great "mods" but I prefer not to mod my host software.
