Cannot Delete Audio Files

I have been trying to clean my audio disk using the Clean Audio dialogue. It has worked in the past but will not work today. It does not allow me to delete the selected files, and yet says I need to clean it. Any thoughts?? Joy

I dunno, but i never had sonar tell me my audio drive needs to be cleaned.
The safest way to clean your audio drive is to manually do it. Before doing it, makle sure that every single project is backed up onto another hard drive

Thanks CJay-- It's not the drive I'm trying to clean its the audio folder/ or what they used to call audio disk. It gets cleaned every few projects or the audio gets sluggish/ inoperable. The dialogue box notes that it is the only really safe way to do it without losing current project info. Another thing it is doing is searching through my entire computer including the external hard drive instead of just through the path I chose for it. Frustrating...any other thoughts? Anyone? Joy

    Yep.

This is assuming you're using Per Project Folders.

    1. Do a complete backup of your Cakewalk Projects folder
    2. Open a project
    3. Do a "Save As" to a completely different location/path on your system (make sure "copy audio with project" is checked
    4. Once this is saved in the new location, you can go back and delete everything in the old location.
    5. Now you can move the copy back to your Cakewalk Projects Folder
    6. Repeat steps 2 to 6 for all your projects
