Latency Error

I am trying to record multiple tracks but the sound crackles and cuts out when I play back. I have tried changing the Latency but it doesnt seem to make a difference, I am using Sonar Home Studio 7 and have an i02 Alesis sound card.

Any feedback would be very welcome! :D

Thanks

What Driver Mode are you using?

I am selling my MIM Fender Stratocaster HSS, red and black. PM for more details.

Music Creator 2003, MC Pro 24, SONAR Home Studio 6 XL, SONAR  X3e, CbB, Focusrite Saffire, not enough space.
    Everything is better with pie.

I'm using MME (32-bit) on home studio 7

I have tried changing this to ASIO but then my sound card doesnt work.

The sound card is plugged into speakers too so this basically makes the sound just come out of the laptop speakers instead.

    Thanks

You may need to change the number of buffers in the playback queue. Check the help file Troubleshooting section called Dropouts and Other Audio Problems for different things you can do.
For best recording satisfaction, an upgrade to an audio interface designed for recording is necessary. You can connect many interfaces to an unused USB or FireWire port so you don't have to open the computer up to install one.
The stock sound cards are not the best for recording or playing back lots of audio tracks.
    Welcome to the forum.

MME is no good. Switch to ASIO or WDM. The io2 has ASIO drivers so you may not have installed them correctly. What version of Windows? XP or 7? You need to download the latest driver for your OS from the Alesis site.
